What is RAST?

The term RAST stands for Regional, the location where the research will be conducted, Advanced Air Mobility is the electric aviation technology. Surrogate refers to the fact that the craft is uncrewed, and Trials refer to the research.

What is the purpose of the RAST research?

Evaluate how future AAM platforms can work with Latrobe City's current air traffic control system.

The RAST will involve community engagement workshops and events with government, industry, and aviation stakeholders to inform future electric aviation and AAM research. 


A model drone will be available for stakeholders to see and experts will answer questions. Swinburne AIR Hub at Latrobe Regional Airport will run drone flight tests.
